Advent Wreath Workshop: If you don't use an Advent wreath in your home, considering starting the tradition this year. An Advent wreath is a visible reminder of the coming of our Lord, one that helps us keep our focus on the real meaning of Christmas. On Sunday, Nov. 23, there will be a workshop in the undercroft following the 10 a.m. worship service during which you can make an Advent wreath to take home. The cost for all materials is only $10 and can be paid at the door. Sign up on the bulletin board. Please note: there will be no regular Church School for preschoolers through sixth graders that Sunday so that families can make the wreaths together.

Office help:  During various times of the year, office help is needed to create booklets, directories, annual reports, etc.  The assistance entails copying, answering phones, folding and some light computer work.  Help is also needed when our Administrative Assistant is out of the office.  If you are interested in being a part of an office team please contact Ann Ehlert at info@stphilipsrochester.org or 248.651.6188.

Local labor from this small, very poor fishing town of Axim is hired, another blessing. Check St. Philip's website to view how great the school is coming along. We need to finish the plumbing, and replace the buckets children use as toilets.  The seller of the winning ticket will receive a prize. Peace,  Karen Hooven

Request for new coordinator:
My time as leader of the Seasonal Decorating Committee will end in January 2009.  My hope is to ensure a smooth transition and allow for a period of mentoring for the next person.  Therefore, I am seeking a parishioner to work with me during the upcoming Advent season (November) and Christmas season (December to January).  If this is a job you would be willing to assume, please contact me, Jean Behl at (248) 689-5865.
