St. Philip's "signature" focus is those that are hungry.  This is reflected in the ministries they serve.

MDG
We are following the MDG philosophy by partnering on the construction and furnishing of a facility for a "Head Start"- like program in Axim, Ghana in support of the Millennium Development Goals.  A small contribution from our relative abundance will change the lives of 30 disadvantaged children a year by enabling them to overcome the handicap of illiteracy and set them on the path towards being able to feed themselves and their families, through primary education and gender equality.         Presentation .

Food for the Poor

One of the ministries we support is Food for the Poor.  They provide food, housing, health care, education, water projects, micro-enterprise development assistance and emergency relief to the poorest of the poor.

Heifer Project
Heifer's Mission to End Hunger

Heifer envisions…
A world of communities living together in peace and equitably sharing the resources of a healthy planet.

Heifer’s mission is…
To work with communities to end hunger and poverty and to care for the earth.

Heifer's strategy is…
To “pass on the gift.” As people share their animals’ offspring with others – along with their knowledge, resources, and skills – an expanding network of hope, dignity, and self-reliance is created that reaches around the globe.

Heifer’s History
This simple idea of giving families a source of food rather than short-term relief caught on and has continued for over 60 years. Today, millions of families in 128 countries have been given the gifts of self-reliance and hope.
